THE CLOSING WORLD ECUMENICAL LITURGICAL CELEBRATION FOR THE STATION OF CREATION, WITH THE THEME OF THE JUBILEE FOR EARTH will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2020.

It is with great joy that we announce that the Anglican Communion Environmental Network has selected our Bishop Ilma. María Griselda Delgado del Carpio to represent the Anglican Communion as a whole, in the Celebration of a Worldwide Ecumenical Liturgy as the closing of the Season of Creation, this Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time (Cuba). It will take place via the internet.

The Invitation has been expressly made to our Bishop Griselda by the Environmental Work Network of the Anglican Communion, as well as by the Permanent Ecumenical Committee of the Station of Creation, represented by the international leaderships of various Churches and ecclesial bodies among them:
The Anglican Communion itself
• The World Council of Churches
• World Communion of Reformed Churches
• The Lutheran World Federation
• Representation of the Ecumenical Patriarch
• The Conference of European Churches
• The World Evangelical Alliance
• Commission of the International Union for Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation.

She will participate in the celebration alongside Christine Leano, Associate Director of the Global Catholic Climate Movement.
Rev. Dr. Ioan Sauca, Secretary General of the World Council of Churches.

Rev. Dr. Martin Junge, Secretary General of The Lutheran World Federation.

The feast of St. Francis of Assisi, October 4, unites Christian and environmental leaders from around the world in a time of celebration, hope, prayer, reflection and immediate future actions. In a global convocation like this one, they pray together with Christians from all corners of the world to close the Season of Creation 2020. This year's theme is the Jubilee for Earth, and which has as a background the uncertainty that has generated the covid-19 pandemic. This Closing Liturgical service will be a significant moment of world Ecumenical Solidarity and concrete commitments of each Church, and in our case, the Episcopal Church in Cuba. The current moment brings incalculable challenges in the recovery of our deteriorated Earth, which commits each of us to value and care more and more for God's Sacred Creation. Amen. From the Diocesan Office.
